We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Michelina for 6 days in July. It was our second trip to the Amalfi coast, and with two small children in tow, we were looking for a location that would allow us beach, pool and restaurants without having to drive! This is it!
The villa was spotlessly clean - Michelina had just finished cleaning it as we arrived. It's located in a multi-level compound (for lack of a better word) with the ground floor being devoted to gardens & a plunge pool, and the second floor being the rental villa (with dual patios out the front & back) and the third floor belonging to Faith & her family (I think I got that right)? Michelina grows all kinds of amazing things and the gardens are lush & beuatiful. You can see ancient stone walls & remains of ruins RIGHT THERE! Incredible! The pool was sparklingly clean and perfect for super hot days. Property also has a shared laundry room with washing machine to use. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook a meal, and Michelina surprised us throughout the stay with fresh lemons, tomatoes, plums and a variety of little cakes! Oh, and homemade limoncello! Yum!
In terms of the location, it's just a few steps from the local marina. That's a great thing if you're looking to take a water taxi to Positano or Amalfi, and a not-great thing if you're looking for a relaxing swimming beach. The beach is BUSY and a bit cramped! There were several decent local restaurants withing walking distance and then an amazing restaurant (Il PIrata!). If you have a vehicle (like we did), the bonus is covered parking!
Perhaps the best part of our stay, though, was meeting Faith and Michele and their sweet daughter. At the end of the trip we felt like old friends, and I hope we get to see them again!!!
