Good Time But Verify Details
We enjoyed our trip and this is the third time we’ve stayed at Paradise Palms. This unit could use some additional seating options and lacked basic supplies (extra paper towels and toilet paper, garbage bags, etc.). When we arrived the gate code, door code and property management number had all changed and didn’t work. Verify the correct numbers prior to arrival. The owner did call us back with the new info and was very helpful and apologetic.
Overall a good experience and a good location.
Good concept, poor execution
We stayed for a week as a family of four (two little kids) and a set of grandparents.
The house and property are nice. It was spacious, plenty of room fit a large group, and the private pool was a plus. It was nice to have the baby furniture there for us. We enjoyed the amenities from the resort, too. It was a good set up for us because we were looking for a relaxing vacation in warm weather.
HOWEVER, a lot was scimped on when putting the property together. The decor is poorly done and the upstairs carpet wasn't stretched properly. The kitchen utensils were poor quality (think dollar store) and there were not really enough plates for the size of the house, so it wasn't exactly set up for a lot of cooking like we wanted to do. A lot of the things that are common in other rentals were missing. There were not garbage bags or dish soap for our stay. We were asked to wash towels but not provided with laundry detergent. When the owner asked how it was going, i mentioned these things and she basically scolded me. Thankfully there were no big issues that made us have to work with her, but it doesn't seem like it would be pleasant.
Enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed this property - convenient to Disney - about 20 minutes away. Our family had a great time!

I'd like to provide a little more information about the driving options, so our guests can reach the Disney easily and rapidly.
According the google map, there are 3 options to Disney from my home include the estimated driving time.
Option 1 - 10 min (5.6 mi) via US-192 E and FL-429 N
(People normally go this way. This way will go through the commercial area.However, it is very busy in the peak time)
Option 2 - 11 min (5.7 mi) via Hartzog Rd (This way is the by pass for the peak time)
Option 3 - 13 min (7.5 mi) via Funie Steed Rd (This way is the by pass for the peak time and also the best way to Animal Kingdom)

The bad and the ugly
My family has stayed at Paradise Palms two other times and thoroughly enjoyed our stay however we felt the need to disclose our bad experience at this rental property.
There was trash piled high at the front of the house to welcome us (cleaning people could have put it at the large trash bin at the front). The owner gave us the wrong password for the house and wrong management company. We could not get a hold of anyone for at least two hours before getting into the house. The ice machine and water machine were not working. The dryer machine was not working. The master bathroom tub had black stains on the side and shower curtain smelled like urine. When I finally got a hold of the owner, she was yelling at me over the phone and most of the people at walmart could hear her. The owner never apologized about any of the items I mentioned to her about the house over the phone but did go on to say that if I read the contract, I would know the property is “as is” condition and I’m expecting too much. “This was not a five-star hotel and I shouldn’t be expecting that. If I was unhappy with the house, I could leave by midnight and find other arrangements.” The owner did send an E-mail message later that said I’m sorry "your expectation was not met.” I didn’t think that I was being unreasonable by expressing my frustration.
My warning to future renters is that if anything goes array in the house, don’t expect the owner to be sympathetic.
I am sorry for your bad feelings about my home. We are trying to build a home away from home atmosphere for our guests, just like we are visiting our friend home. I am sure this home has issues, as everybody's homes. If there are something out of your expectation, like you wanted to entered the home prior the check-in time, or you wanted the washing machine to be fixed right away... we are completely understand and respect your feeling. I could have the same feeling when I traveled with my kids... even though I always told my kids to keep optimistic to the things they are not comfortable with, I do understand it is hard to make everybody happy.
I just like to give a little bit details for the facts, not from your feelings.
#1 – Our smart lock records showed you entered the house on 4:01 pm. If you wanted to enter early, you should let me know. Otherwise the lock wouldn’t be activated until 4 pm. No matter how hard you were trying.
#2 – I fully understand the frustration while your kids vomited on the trip…and you found the washing machine stopped working… this is something we could not foresee…like in our own home. While I tried to explain and comfort you… you were overwhelmed. you kept on talking for 6 minutes non-stop…until I had to break you…and gain me a second to talk… otherwise I wouldn’t know when you could stop your talks… As a matter of fact, we fixed the washing machine within 18 hours (the early morning of the 2nd day).
#3 - I offered you a 100% refund since we could not make the washing machine work right away. You refused my offer. There were many vacancies since it was the non-peak season.
I am a mom with 2 kids. We have traveled more than 20 counties… We had issues for sure, however, we analyzed the issues by facts, not by our emotions. I would say if we travel with the understanding, tolerance, sympathy, and empathy, our trips would be much more enjoyable!
You can do better
My family and I have stayed at Paradise Palms 5 times and this is the first time we have ever felt the need to leave a bad review.
We encountered numerous problems with our stay. The most glaring was the televisions not working in multiple rooms and the dryer being broken for the entire stay. The most frustrating part about the dryer, is they knew 2 days before we arrived that it was not working properly. If someone would've just gave us a heads up we would've packed differently. You could also tell you were getting the runaround the whole time with regards to the problems being fixed. We were there for 8 nights and neither problem was resolved. We were given numerous "pass the buck" responses. Just remember we were there for 8 nights and neither problem was resolved.
The property as a whole leaves a lot to be desired, it is just not as good as all the paradise palms units we've stayed at in the past. The blinds are broken in multiple rooms, the beds are torn up, no bar stools, a bathroom sized trash can in the kitchen, etc.
My advice go elsewhere in Paradise Palms and get better value for your money.
I'm sure there will be a response by the owners, but don't buy it. We've used VRBO 10-15 times and this is the first problem we've ever had.
The house is very comfortable and everything works well
The neighborhood is very well located and has many amenities. The house is big, and it looks like it is shown on the web. It was clean anda has everything you need.
The owners and the administrator were very helpful. We really liked our stay. It did not seem right not to be able to receive packages in our name without paying.
