Great property for a large family group
We were a family group of 4 generations, mostly from England, and we all loved this property. We used the main house and the ‘honeymoon’ bunkhouse which suited our needs perfectly. We found the house to be homely and well equipped, especially in the kitchen where there was plenty of cutlery, dinnerware, pots and pans etc. The large dining room table meant we could all eat together and we spent many happy hours sharing a meal and enjoying the beautiful views of the lake. The open plan living area meant that in the evenings we could split into groups and play games (there are plenty to choose from) at the table or read books on the sofa etc but still be together. The lake with its large dock and beach were very special and probably the best we have found during our annual vacations in Canada. Use of the boats and paddle boards made all the difference and the whole family had great fun with these. My son and father spent some time fishing (you need a license) and they caught some good sized fish, my grandson loved to watch them being released back into the water. He also loved the toys thoughtfully left in the child’s bedroom. We all agree that this is a great property for a large group and we would be very happy to return one day.
Perfect family holiday!
Great house for 12 of us, right on the water, beautiful views, great dock, private lake with all the watercraft available to enjoy it. So quiet, so peaceful. Grandchildren aged 7 to 19, fished, dived, canoed, paddle boarded, swam, played chess, checkers, scrabble, black jack, great long dinner table which seated us all comfortably, good kitchen for all the cooks! This is our second visit - we LOVE this property.
The Perfect Family Getaway
Wow, what an amazing stay! The Howard's cottages exceeded all of our expectations.
Check-in and arrival went very smoothly. Louis greeted us at the property and was super helpful throughout the stay. We initially had issues with the WiFi, but he managed to fix it within a few hours (merci Louis!)
The cottages were very well kept and extraordinarily clean. Plenty of rooms to accommodate the whole family (10 adults + 2 children). The main common area is large and airy with beautiful views of the lake. Seating was a bit tight (only two small sofas and a couple of padded chairs), but the long benches behind each of the sofas served nicely as extra seating. The kitchen was fully equipped and the two fridges had ample room for our 7-day stay.
Outdoor amenities were fantastic too. The sandy beach was a big hit. The two canoes were also great for the adventurous bunch (and hammocks for the lazy bunch 😉).
Overall, a fantastic week. We will definitely consider repeating the experience next year!
Perfect destination for family holiday
This was a wonderful spot for a multigeneration family get together. We were two grandparents, six parents and six kids aged 2 months to 8 years. There was plenty of space and activities to suit everyone. No one in our group went fishing but we kept busy with swimming (great shallow area for the kids and deeper water for the more adventurous), boating and playing in the sand. During a rainstorm we were kept busy with loads of board games and at the end of each day there was room for everyone side by side at the supper table. The kitchen had everything we needed and more.
