A perfect place to stay for a Cape Breton getaway.
Cabot Bhreagh was a perfect setting for three couples who were enjoying a fall get away. A wonderfully appointed home, with all of the necessary amenities, and a central location with a beautiful view. We were in easy driving distance of the Cabot Trail, some of the Celtic Colours venues, and great beach walks. Our hosts were most gracious and offered suggestions on things to do and see.
Four good sized bedrooms, with very comfortable beds, and two large baths provided the perfect amount of space and privacy. The kitchen was very well equipped if one wanted to have meals in house, and laundry facilities were available if needed. There was nothing we lacked in this home away from home.
This home added to the beautiful fall colours Cape Breton experience ...highly recommended.
Thank you Trudy, Doug and friends for your very lovely description of Cabot Bhreagh! Spending a few days in Cape Breton is always enjoyable but when those days are during the month of October and Celtic Colours festival is underway, that CB experience takes on a whole new level of fun and beauty!! That is of course our humble opinion 🎻😁. We try to have Cabot Bhreagh reflect as close as we can, the real feeling of your home - away from home!! After reading your remarks, we feel that perhaps we hit that mark with you and your traveling friends.
Kindest regards Kevin and Cathy
Great place for a gathering of friends
A place for everything with a thorough and well written manuel.
And if in doubt - call Kevin. He was always prompt in responding.
We were there for Celtic Colours. Conviennient to venues as well as to the Cabot Trail with fantastic
Awesome and beautiful place
This was the first time we visited Nova Scotia. It is an absolutely beautiful place to visit. We hiked in Cape Breton and came across a momma bear and her cub. Saw bald eagles everywhere. Sat out on the deck of this beautiful home and watched the sun rise. The house is beautiful and the homeowners are so accommodating and helpful. The beach is just around the corner and so wonderful to go and sit and watch the sunset. We hope to be able to come back and stay longer than a week. You definitely need more time to enjoy all the beautiful scenery. Thanks Kevin and Cathy
Thank you for your heart warming comments Karen, Kim, John and the rest of the Brunetti family. Like you highlighted in your review Karen, the sunrises and sunsets are really beautiful and provide a unique framing that adds to the joy of every day!
Because Cape Breton is a large island with lots of land undeveloped and under the protection of Parks Canada, the opportunity to see bears and eagles in the wild is a unique and exciting adventure that many people see with their own eyes. We never take this gift of natural protected land for granted. This is a real gift for all to enjoy.
We spend a significant amount of time making sure that our property is at the ready and our guests have all the information required to make their Cape Breton vacation meet their expectations. It is what we seek in our own vacation travels and we want to do our best for all guests who are supporting us at Cabot Bhreagh.

Perfect home away from home to explore Cape Breton Island
Kevin's property is everything as advertised and so much more and represents an exceptional value for any discerning traveller who is seeking a comfortable and well equipped vacation home base in Cape Breton.
The physical design of Cabot Bhreagh is excellent and the quality of fit/finish/furnishings is very good. There are four well appointed bedrooms and a spacious great room/kitchen - all the space a family needs to feel at home. As the family chef, I was also impressed with the kitchen - everything, and I mean everything, was there to cook delicious family meals. Outdoor spaces, including the north facing covered deck and the east facing open deck overlooking the harbour are outstanding places to relax and reflect after a great day in the park, and the outdoor gas firepit is a lovely touch when you want to squeeze the last remnants of the day outside with the stars. Bathrooms were great and the laundry room was appreciated to re-charge clothes after two weeks on the road in the Maritimes.
The location of the property in Margaree Harbour simply cannot be beat. My walks to the beach in the early am, coffee and camera in hand, was a highlight. Jump in your car, and in 20 minutes you are in Cheticamp, another 10 you are in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, close to the best trails including Acadian, Skyline and others.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning a return in 2019 and are looking for property as well! If I was asked for suggestions, the only thing I would recommend to travellers who are driving to Cabot Bhreagh is to bring a kayak, or arrange with an outfitter to rent some. The property is directly on Margaree Harbour which is fed by the famous Margaree River, so miles and miles of outstanding flat water kayaking on the Margaree is just a few yards away from the east deck!
10/10 property, 10/10 property owners, 10/10 place to spend time vacationing!
Perfect Cape Breton experience.
Amazing property, every possible comfort and detail tended to. Kevin over serviced us providing many local experiences. Outstanding vacation.
Cathy and Joe were wonderful guests at Cabot Bhreagh. They both took gentle care of our vacation home and we are very grateful to the Iacobellis family for that. Joe caught some fish in the harbour, at least one large puzzle was completed, beach walks were enjoyed and amazing sunsets were videoed to be enjoyed many times in the future. Cape Breton was thoroughly explored and enjoyed with Cabot Bhreagh as their relaxing home base. We could not be more delighted with our small role in the vacation experienced by the Iacobellis family!
This property and surrounding setting is stunning! The home is beautiful, spacious, and well appointed. The owners thought of everything to make your stay welcome. Speaking of, the owners’ hospitality is top shelf and very warm. I was so appreciative of the time they took to share history, travel info, and detailed info about the property and Nova Scotia in general.
The property has so many WOW factors! The views of Margaree Harbor are incredible! The bunky and outdoor shower was a treat. All of the beds were comfortable. The master bath was spacious and amazing.
A special highlight of our stay was the owners providing us contact with a wonderful gentleman who delivered lobsters and prepared them for us!
Imagine witnessing the incredible beauty of Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail, and returning to an equally beautiful home. I hope to return to Cabot Bhreagh and create more memories soon! Thanks, Kevin and Cathy Woodford!
It was a real pleasure communicating with Tonia about her trip to Cape Breton. This family really embraced the beauty of the island and the people who live here with real gusto! Thank you for your warm words about the assistance we offered and gentle care you took of Cabot Bhreagh! We really appreciate that your family minded our vacation home as if it were your own home. We would enjoy sharing some time with your family on your next visit to Cape Breton and perhaps share a story and a local libation or two 😁👍🏻🍻🎶. Kindest personal regards to your entire family who traveled with you to Cabot Bhreagh. Kevin and Cathy
