Location was a bit off the beaten path. Had to drive down a very narrow,, unpaved road. Cabin was ok but the downstairs had a musty smell and that was where the kitchen was.
Great time, great place & area!!
We both really enjoyed our stay. The chalet was as advertised and well beyond expectations. Great spot, view, minutes from beaches, wharfs, cute small towns, gift shops and groceries stores. The communication and relationship with owner was great. Truly enjoyed our stay, would recommend to anyone !!
Property was very overgrown, grass was 1 ft tall. Bug infested, mosquitoes, black flies.
Extremely remote, no television signal. Inside was reasonable but outside had not been cared for and no way to reach the water unless you had boots. Disappointed!!!
We are sorry you were disappointed with your visit. The property is approximately 10 from Highway 103, which is the main highway between Halifax and Yarmouth, and takes one to many scenic locations in the area. So although it is private and not walking distance to grocery stores/cafes & restaurants they can be reached in as little as 12 to 15/20 minutes. The internet and television are connected through satellite and tower services so although not the same as would be in a city they do work. We are always available to respond and remedy any presenting issues such as loss of television signal. We appreciate your note about the water and in future will remind visitors to check low/high tides charts for ocean accessibility.
NOT as described.
While there were some very nice touches, and the place was clean, the overall experience was a disappointment. The property was on the water, but there really was no access. We tried following some "paths" a couple of times, but was very overgrown and marshy. Lots of poison ivy, so wear long pants if you try. The host Stephen and Donna were gracious and helpful, only complaint there was that Stephen called me at 7:30 am on Sunday morning to ask me to call him the next day after 12 noon. I think that that early morning call could have waited until later on Sunday. Last negative, and it was significant for us. There are a lot of stairs here and the risers are tall, not to code. The kitchen is in the lower level and we had difficulty getting up and down those lower stairs, especially when trying to carry food or drinks up to the living area. Just a caution if you have any problems climbing or with knees/hips. Also, last note, there was no microwave, so no way to reheat coffee/tea or leftovers. Guess we're used to the inexpensive convenience.
We enjoyed staying in your cottage. The drive instructions you gave us lead us directly to the house. There was everything available we needed.
We will never forget the albino dear we met on the private road. It really made us a big pleasure sitting and talking with you together the last evening at a glas of very good wine. Thank you so much. We will recommand you to our friends.
