Loved the location, how clean and well decorated it was. Followed the guest book with proposed restaurants and hikes. No regret.
The Quiet Side of Acadia
The cottage was very clean and the beds and living room furniture comfortable. The kitchen chairs are unstable and the table small. The kitchen is very minimally stocked. The guest book was very handy--filled with maps and suggestions for things to see and do in the area, including the local restaurants. The 5 and 10 store is worth a visit. They have a little bit of everything.
Hospitality wise, There were no extra trash bags for us to take out the trash and no extra toilet paper left out for us. We had a problem with spiders and sweet ants coming in through the bottoms of the doors. I had some peppermint oil with me and ran some on the floor and diffused it in my diffuser. That helped for awhile. When the diffuser stopped running they came back. The directions to find the cottage were off. We were told to look for the large mailbox with the number on it. Evidently, it was knocked down. The property owner or manager did not give us that bit of information. We went past it and knew to turn around because of a landmark she gave us. We turned around and started back towards where it should be. I recognized the cottage from the photo on VRBO across the street from the missing mailbox.
We enjoyed our time in the Acadia area, but I'm not sure I would stay at this property.
Nice quiet place
Clean and quiet. About an hour drive to Acadia National Park, but really nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Schoodic Peninsula is just down the road.
Perfect place to enjoy the more quiet side of Acadia
We stayed with another couple for a long weekend. The cottage was clean and inviting and was the perfect base camp for exploring all the little towns nearby. Bar Harbor was a nice day trip, but we were happy to have a place to return to that wasn't nearly as crowded with people for the fall season.
We had a great long weekend. Cozy spot.
Immaculately clean and comfortable. Wish there had a been a real stove vs two electric burners but we managed. Just a note: no water views from cottage although photos lead you believe so. I asked owner and she confirmed no view. No problem for us. In a lovely wooded spot.
Wonderful Winter Harbor
Clean and bright! Everything you could need for a short stay. Responsive hosts. Only issue was internet was slow which created jittery images on the TV. Other than that, all was well!
