A special place
Very nice chalet, extremely well-equipped, lovely location and a charming host. Absolutely perfect if you only need two bedrooms. Close to Inverness and its stunning boardwalk, but also not too far from access points to the beautiful Celtic Trail or from the many hiking trails near Mabou. It's a 15-minute drive to the Glenora Inn where you can find good food and music in the evenings. And for the icing on the cake, there is a resident eagle who regularly flies right by the chalet!
We rode out Hurricane Dorian here so we can attest to its solidity of the chalet and to the attentiveness of the host, who kept checking to make sure we were all right.
p.s. If you need more than two beds, be aware that the pull-out sofa in the living room could use a new mattress!
This property is in a fabulous location and it’s absolutely stunning! The chalet is very clean and feels like home. Michael is a wonderful host and very accommodating. We would definitely come back and stay here. Wish we could have stayed longer
Lake Ainslie Paradise
If you’re staying in Cape Breton, you must stay here! So peaceful, quiet and away from the crowds. We also saw multiple bald eagles? And while we didn’t get to use the kayaks this time, we will do it next! Our party had 4 adults and there was plenty of space. Do yourself a favor and book here! Thanks so much for a great stay!
Charming spot with gorgeous views!
My husband and I had a wonderful 3-night stay here, visiting from Tennessee. The property is incredibly picturesque and is a great place from which to explore Cape Breton. Michael and his wife Winnie were friendly and helpful, and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed strolling the boardwalk in Inverness, canoeing from the property, eating at the Red Shoe Pub in Mabou, driving the Cabot Trail and stopping for a beautiful hike in the Ingonish highlands. The sunset and sky from the deck were dramatic, and we did see a bald eagle gliding above the lake. Thank you for welcoming us!
My wife and I stayed here as our home base for exploring Cape Breton. The views from the balcony are even better than they appear in the photos. We even saw a couple eagles. The lake was too rough for kayaking the days we were there, but they were available for us to use.
